The disaster management department was formed on 03.02.1991 as a vocal point between the General Directorate of Civil Defense , government institutions bodies, non-governmental and regional and international government agencies, with regard to the activities of those organizations in the field of disasters, the disaster management has many achievements, such as strengthening relationships with such bodies and organizations.

Upgrading work to meet the advanced level of disaster management stages to prevent or reduce the damage resulted of various types of disasters as much as possible
