Laboratories Division
The Division performs the following duties:
- Participate in setting specifications for devices and equipment and any other related specifications.
- Participate in relevant committees.
- Participate in preparing the necessary studies to equip the laboratory with all necessary devices and materials and qualify its Man power.
- Examine fire waste.
- Examine protective and self-protection equipment and ensure that they meet the standard specifications.
The laboratory division conducts examinations on both: fire extinguishing materials (chemical analysis laboratory) and some mechanical fire extinguishing equipment.
This division is divided into 3 sections:
Chemical analysis laboratory: It specializes in conducting tests on powder material and preparing fire samples.
Mechanical Firefighting Equipment Analysis Department: It is specialized in conducting tests for:
- Manual fire extinguishers
- Rubber firefighting hoses
- Non-leaky linen firefighting hoses
Electrical Laboratory: The necessary studies are currently being prepared to equip an electrical laboratory specialized in conducting electrical tests on some parts of the fire alarm and detection system and the extent of their compliance with international specifications and standards, in addition to the role of this laboratory in the process of investigating the causes of fires of electrical origin in terms of conducting electrical tests on fire samples "wires and electrical devices" to determine whether the fire is of electrical origin or not.
