Prevention and Self-Protection Department

The Department of Prevention and Self-Protection at the present time represents a model in the application of all standards of high-end institutional performance in providing services to citizens, as the department has recently witnessed an advancement in all technical, administrative and service fields to keep pace with the great urban, industrial and commercial growth that the Kingdom is currently witnessing, where all plans of  Engineering, auditing and approving are being studied based on a specific technical reference with codes specialized in matters of fire protection for various facilities with all their occupancy issued by the National Building Council within an integrated strategy aimed at achieving a safe environment in all aspects  of life under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein to  the Public Security Agency/Civil Defense In order to achieve the vision of the Directorate of Civil Defense

the Department of Prevention and Self-Protection has given most of its attention to be a pioneering and distinguished model in providing service to citizens with high efficiency and accuracy, and work has been done to improve and develop all procedures followed in the Department of Prevention Which contributes to achieving institutional and national goals.

 

 Excellence in institutional performance and leadership at work has become one of the priorities that the Prevention Department aspires to achieve continuously by providing qualified cadres and advanced training programs, in line with scientific progress in the field of prevention and self-protection sciences, especially since the Jordanian Civil Defense has become one of the leading civil protection agencies in the Middle East in this field.

Based on the directives of Public Security Director for Development and Modernization, the Department of Prevention and Self-Protection worked with its strategic partners (Greater Amman Municipality, the Jordanian Engineers Association) to automate the procedures for studying engineering plans, as well as the electronic fee collection system for this service in order to provide the optimal service to its recipients.

 Work is underway to automate the procedures for granting occupancy permits for buildings and facilities with all their occupancy. Due to the urban expansion in the Kingdom, it is found that  the need to increase the number of departments and branches followed to the Department of Prevention and Self-Protection to continue to gain the satisfaction of service recipients by providing the service as quickly with less effort, efficiently and effectively, as the number of prevention departments has become 17 departments and 3 branches spread in all governorates of the Kingdom.
