Civil Defense 

  Approval for importing the public safety materials and equipment

Recipients

  • Public and private sectors.

Place

Conditions

  • The materials and equipment intended to be imported for the benefit of a public safety company approved by the Civil Defense or for the purposes of a project (which has a file in the Prevention Department. 

Documents

  • Customs declaration (containing the materials to be imported) / General Customs Department / Original copy
  • Certificate of accreditation from an international laboratory / International technical laboratory accredited by the Standards and Metrology Organization / Original copy or certified copy.
  • Original copy or certified copy / Internal technical laboratory accredited by the Standards and Metrology Organization / Certified copy.
  • Catalogs of materials to be imported / Manufacturing company / Original copy

Procedures

  • The person concerned fills out an application for importing protective and self-protection equipment in the Department of Prevention and Self-Protection or the Aqaba Protection Department.

  • The application and the required documents (accreditation certificate from an international laboratory, catalogs of materials) are studied. If the results of the study conform to the conditions, a letter approving the import request is directed to the person concerned, in which it is indicated that the customs declaration should be submitted upon import.

  • When executing the import process, the person concerned brings the customs declaration to the Accreditation and Specifications Department.

  • In the event that the materials and equipment need a laboratory examination (extinguishers, hoses,...) it is required to bring a technical examination report from one of the laboratories approved by the Standards and Metrology institution .

  • After conducting the laboratory tests, the results are handed over to the Accreditation and Specifications Department, where they are attached to the customs declaration transaction.

  • In the event that the results of the customs declaration study do not comply with the conditions, explanations are directed to the General Customs Department not to approve the entry of materials.

  • In the event that the results of the study meet the conditions, the fees prescribed in the Accounting Department are paid and a letter is sent to the General Customs Department approving the entry of materials and clearance of the contents of the customs declaration.

  • According to the amended regulation  for the regulation of delivering  the service allowance of the Directorate of Civil Defense No. (128) for the year 2015.

  •  In the event that the materials need technical examination, the time depends on the delivery of the results of the examination

  • A letter approving the import or introduction of public safety materials and equipment.
  • Document validity period: used once for the same customs declaration.
