Pursuant to the Royal directives to divide the Kingdom into administrative and development regions with the aim of providing the best services to all sectors and ensuring their access to all levels in the Kingdom’s land with the highest degrees of excellence and transparency to keep pace with the rapid global economic and administrative development, Public Security Directorate took the initiative to translate these directives on the ground by dividing the Kingdom into regions, Whereas, on 10/20/2005, the Central Region Security Command was established, and police directorates are followed to are (Zarqa Police Directorate, Rusaifa Police Directorate, Balqa Police Directorate, West Balqa Police Directorate, Madaba Police Directorate).
On November 1, 2005, the region's leadership began its work in the building of the Zarqa Police Directorate.

Among the duties of the Central Region Security Command is to issue instructions and orders that ensure the implementation of the strategic goals, instructions and orders issued by the Public Security Directorate, supervise and follow up the delivery of police and security services to service recipients, make the best use of available human resources, and guide and supervise all attached public security units, coordinating and supervising work with formations and other official bodies.
