South Amman Police Directorate

In 1963, the South Amman Police Directorate was a police unit under the name (Amman Gendarmerie) and followed to the Balqa Police Directorate.

After 1967, it was attached to the Royal Badia Police, and Madaba, Al-Yadudah, Naour, Sweileh, Sahab, and Wadi Al-Seer were affiliated to it.

The Southern Amman Police Directorate was reformed in the mid-seventies under the name of the Suburbs Police Directorate. It was separated in 1986 following the establishment of the Greater Amman Municipality and included in the Capital Police Directorate.
In 2003 , the Suburbs Police Directorate was reformed, and on September 12, 2005 , the Capital Region Security Command was created and the name of the Suburbs Police Directorate was changed to become the Southern Amman Police Directorate, to which (6) police stations were followed , namely:

Juwaida police station, to which the Central Market point and the Grand Criminal Court point follow.

Moqabeleen police station.

AlZuhour police station.

Marj Al-Hamam police station.

Al-Bayader police station, followed by Wadi Al-Seer point.

Naour police station.
On August 6, 2011, the Directorate was moved from the Bayader Wadi Al-Seer area to the current building in the Mqablain area.
Among the duties of the South Amman Police Directorate are the implementation of all orders and instructions issued by the Regional Security Command, the provision of distinguished police services to service recipients, the development of police and security action plans from which executive plans for prevention and combating crime emerge, the periodic evaluation of the police and security action plans and the necessary amendments in their regard. Strengthening the system of knowledge, communication, creativity and innovation in individual and institutional work, optimal use of available human and material resources, guidance and supervision of all attached Public Security units, strengthening partnership and cooperation with security agencies and official institutions, and maintaining communication, cooperation and social responsibility roles with service recipients and the local community.
