Irbid Police Directorate
In 1921 , the Irbid Police Directorate was established and it was called the (Police and Gendarmerie Force), and the following centers belong to it:
- On 1/10/1948 , a police station of Bani Obeid was established, and it was called the Gendarmerie.
- In 1989 , the North Irbid police station was established. The establishment of the North Irbid Center dates back to the Ottoman era. It was known as the Gendarmerie, and it is one of the oldest police station in the governorate.
- In 1966 , the North Mazar police station was established.
- In 1973, the city police station was established.
- In 1992, the Kafr Yuba police station was established.
- On November 14, 1993, the Bani Kinana police station was established.
- On January 15, 2004, the East Irbid police station was established.
- On 4/26/2011, the West Irbid police station was established.
One of the duties of the Irbed Governorate Police Directorate is to implement all orders and instructions issued by the Regional Security Command, to provide excellent police services to service recipients, to develop police and security action plans from which executive plans for prevention and combating crime emerge, and to periodically evaluate police and security action plans and make the necessary amendments in their regard. Strengthening the system of knowledge, communication, creativity and innovation in individual and institutional work, optimal use of available human and material resources, guidance and supervision of all affiliated and attached Public Security units, strengthening partnership and cooperation with security agencies and official institutions, and maintaining communication, cooperation and social responsibility roles with service recipients and the local community.
