Tafila Governorate Police Directorate

• On January 1, 1986, Tafilah Police Directorate was established, after the issuance of the Royal Decree to develop the Tafilah District to a governorate. the directorate was formed after it was a police station  followed to the Karak Governorate Police Directorate.

• The Directorate building (the current location) was established in 2009 in the Al-Ais area.

Among the duties of the Tafilah Governorate Police Directorate are the implementation of all orders and instructions issued by the regional Security Command, the provision of distinguished police services to service recipients, the development of police and security action plans from which executive plans for prevention and combating crime emerge, the periodic evaluation of the police and security action plans and the necessary amendments in their regard, Strengthening the system of knowledge, communication, creativity and innovation in individual and institutional work, optimal use of available human resources, guidance and supervision of all attached Public Security units, strengthening partnership and cooperation with security agencies and official institutions, and maintaining communication, cooperation and social responsibility roles with service recipients and the local community.
