PSD spokesman said that the special branch  in Irbid governorate were able to follow up on new information about a run-over, death and escape incident that took place 23 years ago in the city of Irbid, and they arrested the perpetrator and referred him to the judiciary.

In the details of the case, a few weeks ago, new information was received by the special branch  about a run-over accident that occurred in the year 2000 in the city of Irbid, as an unknown vehicle ran over a person while he was walking on the public street and fled from the place, as the injured was treated by passers-by, but he Soon after, he passed away, and the perpetrator of the accident was not reached at the time.

The spokesman added that an investigation team followed up the information in the case for weeks, reviewed investigation records and licensing records, to eventually lead them to identify the vehicle and the person who committed the accident.

The spokesman confirmed that the suspect was arrested and admitted that 23 years ago, while he was driving in the vehicle accompanied by one of his relatives, he ran over the deceased and did not provide him with first aid.
