PSD spokesman confirmed Anti-Narcotics Department managed to arrest members of a regional drug smuggling group, after three months of follow-up and investigation in which  800,000 narcotic pills to a neighboring country.

In the details, the spokesman said that intelligence information was received to the Anti-Narcotics Department that more than three months ago, a criminal group operating inside the Kingdom and having connections  with a regional group for smuggling narcotic substances.

The spokesman added that, over a period of three months, a special investigation team from the department  followed up the information from inside and outside the Kingdom. Those efforts resulted in  identifying the members of the group inside the Kingdom and the locations of their activities and their hiding of narcotic substances in the governorates of the capital, Mafraq, Zarqa and Rusaifa District.

The spokesman confirmed that after confirming all the information and locations, the department raided the suspected locations at the same time, as five people were arrested, two of whom were of Arab nationality, and they are the vocal point  between the group  and drug dealers outside the Kingdom.

By inspecting the sites, 85 cartons containing cleaning materials were seized, inside which 800,000 narcotic pills (150 kg) were hidden, Investigations are still ongoing.
