PSD spokesman said that the Anti-Narcotics Department continued their efforts and intensive operations to deal with narcotic drugs activities, as AND dealt during the past days with seven specific cases and security operations during which 22 drug dealers and wanted persons were arrested.
The spokesman confirmed that, following the collection of information about a number of wanted persons in the areas south of the capital, a joint security operation was carried out during which AND raided the locations of wanted persons who were traffickers and those who involved in activities related to trafficking and promoting narcotic substances. The operation led to the arrest of nine suspects Among the wanted persons are drug-dealers including a person classified as dangerous.
Also in the capital, information was received about a group of people using an abandoned building in the Jabal Al-Taj area to sell and store drugs. The building was raided and six drug dealers were arrested inside it, and quantities of marijuana, narcotic pills, and pieces of hashish prepared for sale were seized.
In the northern desert, two cases were dealt with. In the first, a drug dealer with 11 judicial restrictions was arrested as he fired gunshots at the force and tried to flee using his vehicle, but he was controlled and arrested, and 4,000 narcotic pills and a firearm were found in his possession in the second case, a person was charged with storing 24 palm-sized sheets of hashish inside a house under construction, in addition to seizing a firearm in his brother’s house.
In Ajloun Governorate, AND raided the whereabouts of a wanted and dangerous trafficker who was hiding from sight. The suspect began firing shots at the force immediately after they raided him, but he was controlled and arrested without significant injuries. Six palm-sized sheets , 400 narcotic pills, and the firearm used were found in his possession.
In Ma'an Governorate, three drug dealers were dealt with after information was received about them transporting a quantity of narcotic substances to Karak Governorate in order to sell them. suspects were raided and arrested during that time, as they tried to flee and resist the force. They were arrested and 7 marijuana palm-sized sheets and 2,000 pills were found in their possession.
In the latest case, a drug dealer was arrested in Mafraq Governorate after a raid and 4 palm-sized sheets of the narcotic hashish were seized in his possession.
All those arrested were referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court.
