PSD spokesman said that during the past few days, Anti-Narcotics Department dealt with six specific cases in various regions of the Kingdom, during which seven suspects, including drug dealers and smugglers were arrested.

The spokesman confirmed that the most prominent of these cases was in the Ramtha District, where an investigation and follow-up team from the department followed up on information about two suspects storing large quantities of narcotic pills to be smuggled inside the Kingdom. After collecting the information and monitoring the two suspects, the team was able to verify the information and set up an ambush. The two were arrested, and nearly half a million narcotic pills were seized.

In Mafraq Governorate, information was received about one of the drivers of cargo vehicles hiding large quantities of narcotic pills in secret hideouts in the cargo vehicle, after verifying the information, the person, who turned out to be of Arab nationality, was arrested and an inspection of the cargo vehicle found 120,000 narcotic pills hidden in one of them.

In Mafraq Governorate also, the location of a drug dealer was raided after information was received about his possession of large quantities of narcotic substances. He was arrested and 20 handfuls of narcotic hashish were found in his possession.

In Karak Governorate, a dealer was arrested in possession of 3,000 narcotic pills and a quantity of narcotic hashish, while a drug dealer in Ma’an Governorate was raided and arrested, and 7,000 narcotic pills and a quantity of narcotic hashish were seized in his possession.

In one of the areas of Western Balqa, a person classified as dangerous was arrested after information was received about his possession of quantities of narcotic marijuana seedlings, quantities of narcotic marijuana seedlings were seized at his place, and all those arrested were referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court.
