** 1094 persons were arrested in 636 cases of trafficking and promotion of narcotic substances during the month of August

** Large quantities of narcotics were seized during those cases

** Carrying out 925 awareness activities in different regions of the Kingdom

In the details, PSD spokesman said that the Anti-Narcotics Department is continuing in its qualitative operations to deal with all forms narcotic substances in the Kingdom.

The spokesman confirmed that during the month of August, from 1/8/2023 until 31/8/2023, 636 cases of trafficking and promotion of narcotic substances were dealt with, during which 1094 suspects were arrested, including dealers and a promoters and persons classified as dangerous, as they were all referred to  the State Security Court.

The spokesman stated that during these cases (224) kilograms of hashish, half a million tablets of narcotic Captagon, (4) thousand tablets of narcotic pills, (7 kilograms and 400 grams) of narcotic crystal and 13 kilograms of narcotic crystal were seized, (2 kilograms) of narcotic industrial marijuana, (600 gram) of narcotic industrial marijuana powder, and a group of firearms.

At the awareness level, AND  implemented 925 educational activities for the month of August, which included a number of courses for agents and a number of lectures, workshops and seminars in partnership with academic and media bodies and relevant partners.

In the same context, the number of admissions to the AND addiction treatment center in the month of August reached 80 cases, between admissions and references.

The spokesman stressed that anti-drug operations and security crackdowns  are continuing in all regions of the Kingdom.
