AND dealt with an attempt to smuggle a million and a half narcotic pills to a neighboring country, in addition to 2 kg of crystal across the Jaber border, and arrested three dangerous wanted persons as the department dealt  with 12other  specific cases in days, including a security operation in the Anjara area in Ajloun Governorate during which 6  drug-dealers  were arrested.

PSD spokesman said that during the past few days, Anti-Narcotics Department dealt with 12 specific cases in various regions of the Kingdom, during which 23 drug dealers and smugglers were arrested.

The spokesman confirmed that the most prominent of these cases was thwarting an attempt to smuggle a million and a half narcotic pills to a neighboring country inside a cargo vehicle, as a special investigation team was responsible for following up the information to identify the cargo vehicle in which the narcotic pills were hidden and six drug-dealers involved in the case. At the same time, the person’s vehicle was seized and the suspects whereabouts were raided. All of them were arrested, and a million and a half narcotic pills were found in secret hideouts in the body of the cargo vehicle.

At the Jaber Border Center, an attempt by a person to smuggle 2 kg of crystal narcotic substances was thwarted, the suspect was arrested along with the narcotic substances in his possession. Likewise, an attempt to smuggle 70,000 narcotic pills was dealt with at the Jaber Border Center, and the person involved was arrested along with the narcotic substances in his possession.

In Ajloun Governorate, a security operation was carried out in the Anjara area against wanted persons and drug dealers , which led to the arrest of six suspects, including those classified as dangerous, and quantities of narcotic substances were seized in their possession.

In the Capital Governorate, four cases were dealt with. In the first case, a drug dealer who was classified as very dangerous and active in drug trafficking in the Jabal Al-Taj area was arrested, a firearm was found in his possession. Another case,  a suspect classified as dangerous, was arrested in the south of the capital in the second case, and a firearm and a quantity of pills were found in his possession. in the third case, a residential apartment used by a drug trafficker was raided, the suspect and another person with him were arrested, 2,500 narcotic pills, and a firearm were found in their possession. In the last case, a drug dealer’s house was raided, he was arrested, and 5 marijuana narcotics and two automatic firearms were found in his possession. .

In Mafraq Governorate, a drug dealer was arrested after his house was raided. searching the house resulted in the seizure of  17,000 narcotic pills, 5 marijuana narcotics, half a kilogram of crystal, and three firearms were seized inside the house. In another case, a drug dealer was arrested in Mafraq Governorate, and 10,000 narcotic pills were found in his possession.

In Aqaba Governorate, a housing unit was used by a person to store narcotic substances. A person was arrested with 25,000 narcotic pills and five firearms were found.

In Ma'an Governorate, a drug dealer was arrested in possession of 8 palm sized sheets  of hashish.

All cases were referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court.
