PSD spokesman stated that civil defense teams dealt today with a fire that broke out inside a hangar that includes a veterinary clinic, a carpentry, and a workshop used to manufacture furniture and supplies with a total area estimated at (700) meters in the Balama area in Mafraq Governorate.

The spokesman added that the firefighting and ambulance teams in Mafraq Governorate supported by the Civil Defense Directorates of East Irbid, Zarqa, Jerash, the Police Directorate, and the municipality in Balama dealt with the fire, control it completely, and prevent it from spreading to neighboring places,  

The fire resulted in suffering number of people from shortness of breath as a result of inhaling the emitted gases, and the ambulance teams worked to provide them with the necessary first aid without the need to transport them to the hospital.

Dozens of operational civil defense vehicles and a large number of human cadres from civil defense and police participated in the operations to extinguish the fire, which resulted in heavy smoke rising due to the nature of the flammable materials. An investigation was opened to find out the cause of the fire.
