Today, specialized rescue teams in the Civil Defense Directorate, west of Irbid rescued three people who suffocated inside an empty water well six meters deep.

PSD spokesman stated that people suffocated after performing maintenance work inside a water well, during which they used water pumps that ran on fuel, which led them being exposed to a lack of oxygen, shortness of breath, and inability to move.

The spokesman added that the specialized crews responded to the report quickly, enabling them to extract people with a professionalism that preserved their lives, using special rescue equipment, while the ambulance teams worked to provide the necessary first aid to those injured at the site, and transport them to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
