The rapid response of the Civil Defense personnel and their professionalism in dealing with a serious injury in Ain Al-Basha contributed to saving the life of the citizen who suffered from bone fragmentation and severe blood bleeding.
The family of the injured young man had sought refuge in the Ain al-Basha Civil Defense Center, which was closest to them, in light of the deteriorating health condition of the injured young man in his twenties. The workers at the center showed high readiness and efficiency in providing proper first aid before transporting him to the hospital.
Lieutenant Paramedic Hamza Samir, who supervised the reception of the injured person and dealt with him, accompanied by a cadre from the Civil Defense, said that when the medical case arrived yesterday, Wednesday, at the Civil Defense Center, the injured was diagnosed immediately, and according to the unified medical protocol for the ambulance, first aid was done to stop the bleeding through the center’s cadres using ( Tornika band) in conjunction with sterilizing the wound and reading the patient’s vital processes and ECG.
Lieutenant Hamza added in his interview with Public Security Radio (AMEN FM) that the injured person also suffered from low blood pressure, which required communication with the emergency doctor through the technology of the digital medical data transmission service (Telemedicine), who in turn instructed the ambulance crews to install cannulae and give him certain amounts of intravenous solutions, which led to a noticeable improvement in his blood pressure..
These measures were taken during the transfer process of patient in ambulance to Salt Governmental Hospital, in order to ensure speedy access to the hospital as the patient arrived hospital in a stable health condition after the success of the followed emergency procedures.
It is worth noting that the Public Security Directorate, represented by the Civil Defense Directorate, trains ambulance personnel on the latest first aid methods through specialized courses, in addition to supplying civil defense centers with the latest vehicle equipped with all first aid requirements.
