PSD spokesman said that the cybercrime unit dealt with and investigated a number of electronic fraud complaints, ended investigations and arrested six people involved in these cases.

The cases that were dealt with were summarized as complaints from citizens who were subjected to electronic fraud, either by deceiving them of the necessity to update their bank data by taking all bank details and data and stealing their accounts and electronic wallets, or by fraudsters who impersonated official institutions and local and Arab official and public figures through letters inviting them to work remotely.

The Anti-Cybercrime Unit repeated its warning not to deal with any anonymous and fake messages or accounts that communicate with them on various social media platforms.

The unit calls on them to avoid being exposed to such fraudulent methods, to be electronically aware and ignore everything that is unknown to them and that they receive via phone messages or pages and social accounts, and to report them directly.

Noting that the most dangerous types of electronic fraud that have been dealt with recently are fraudsters who claim to be bank employees and request data updates, as banks do not require updating personal data through the phone, and the methods through which fraudsters request sums of money or share any information
