PSD spokesman said that  Anti-Narcotics Department have dealt, during the past 48 hours, with a number of specific issues related to drug trafficking and promotion as part of their ongoing crackdowns against  the forms of drug- dealing.

The spokesman confirmed that in these cases, 15 promoters, including drug dealers and smugglers, were arrested, and large quantities of narcotics and firearms were seized.

In the Capital Governorate, three cases were dealt with. In the first case, three drug-dealers were arrested in the south of the capital, after a raid on their whereabouts, 34 packages of hashish and an amount of cocaine and narcotic crystal were seized during the operation, while in one of the regions in northern Amman, a vehicle carrying two drug dealers was raided after following them up from the Al-Mafraq and making sure that they transported quantities of narcotic substances, as they were arrested and  21 packages of hashish and 2000 narcotic pills were seized, in an apartment  located in the south of the capital used by drug dealers to store and sell drugs was raided, two drug dealers were arrested inside, 1 kg of narcotic crystal and a quantity of cocaine were seized too.

In one of the western regions in Al-Balqa, after collecting information about drug dealers using a house to grow narcotic marijuana, the location was raided and two suspects were arrested inside, 313 seedlings of narcotic marijuana were seized during the operation. In Madaba, two drug-dealers were arrested inside their vehicle while they were transporting a quantity of drugs, Nine packages of hashish and 2,000 narcotic pills were seized inside the vehicle.

In Ramtha Brigade, a promoter was arrested in possession of 11 packages of hashish, and two drug dealers were also arrested in Ma’an governorate after they resisted the security forces, 2000 narcotic pills, and 3 packages of hashish were seized in the case. In the last case that was dealt with, a promoter was arrested In Aqaba Governorate, 1,100 narcotic pills were seized in his possession.

All of the arrested were referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court.
