PSD spokesman said that on April 30, 2024, a girl born in 2023 was taken to a hospital in Irbid Governorate, after she was exposed to burns in her body as a result of a hot water shedding .

The spokesman confirmed that immediate action was taken to the hospital, as initial investigations in the incident indicated that the burn to which the child was exposed was caused by her father, as he, under the influence of alcoholic beverages, carried the child, put her feet in hot water, and threatened her mother not to tell anyone about his crime.

The spokesman added that the girl's father, who was in hiding, was arrested in coordination with criminal investigation. This morning, the Family and Juvenile Protection Department in Irbid Governorate was notified by the hospital in which the girl was being treated of her death as a result of the injury she was exposed to. The case will be referred to the judiciary once all investigations are completed.
