His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, visited the Civil Defense Directorate, where His Majesty was briefed on the directorate’s level of readiness and the work and response mechanisms in providing civil protection services.
His Majesty, in the presence of Public Security Director, Major General Dr. AbeidAllah Maaitah, was briefed by the Director of Civil Defense, Brigadier General Dr. Mohammad Al-Omari, about the most important plans and procedures followed to provide services to citizens and residents, and development projects aimed at raising the directorate’s capabilities and the efficiency of its staff members.
His Majesty, the King was briefed also by specialized officers from the Civil Defense about the project to develop ambulance services in accordance with medical care protocols (remote medical guidance), which was developed in the Civil Defense to enable the paramedic in the field to transfer medical data to the main operating rooms and emergency departments during transferring the case obtain medical consultations and prepare medical care before arriving at the hospital.
His Majesty observed an exhibition containing the latest machinery and equipment that were recently brought to service with the aim of enhancing work efficiency, including a robot for fighting fires in dangerous areas, a drone for extinguishing fires in high and narrow locations, and equipment for specialized teams such as the team for dealing with hazardous materials, and the international search and rescue team.
His Majesty expressed his pride in the level reached by the Civil Defense Directorate and its members in providing protection and preserving lives and property, and in their efforts made in various circumstances and times.
His Majesty stressed the importance of continuing to keep pace with developments in civil protection systems, continuing to benefit from accumulated experiences and expertise, and maintaining the highest levels of readiness, especially in the winter season.
For his part, Major General Dr. Al-Maaitah stressed the Public Security Directorate’s keenness to strengthen the civil protection system, provide support and provide all capabilities to build the capabilities of workers in the Directorate and upgrade them in accordance with the best standards and levels to provide the best services.
