Public Security Director, Major General Dr. AbeidAllah Maaitah, inaugurated the Dead Sea and Southern Shuna civil defense centers and the King Hussein Bridge police station.
This opening comes as an extension of the directorate’s modernization and development approach, which is based on a set of modern strategic plans to sustain the provision of the best services to citizens and residents in the Kingdom.
The Director of Public Security stressed that the opening of the new units coincides with the Kingdom’s celebrations on the occasion of the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, assuming his constitutional powers, which prompts the Directorate of Public Security to continue its strategic approach in developing new centers that provide services to citizens and to visitors.
Major General Al-Maaitah stated that the Dead Sea Martyrs Civil Defense Center is an advanced center in the field of water rescue, contributing to enhancing security and safety in the Dead Sea region, adding that the importance of providing a safe and appropriate work environment in accordance with the highest modern engineering standards to enable human cadres to continue carrying out their various duties within a comprehensive strategy for developing performance, keeping pace with developments, dealing with any emergency, and providing ambulance and rescue services with high capacity and efficiency.
The Director of Public Security explained that the Southern Shuna Civil Defense Center came with the aim of expanding coverage of the area of jurisdiction with civil defense services in order to achieve the principle of rapid response in dealing with incidents of various types, and to reduce the distances between civil defense centres, in a way that contributes to improving the response time to dealing with incidents and reducing their consequences.
The Director of Public Security stressed that the new police point on King Hussein Bridge will contribute to improving the services provided to passengers, especially with regard to saving them time and effort, within a series of participatory frameworks with various ministries and relevant official institutions.
The Director of Public Security, Major General Al-Maaitah, indicating that Public Security Directorate is continuing to implement the Royal directives to continue the horizontal expansion of its buildings in a way that provides security, humanitarian and community measures, aimed at preserving the security and safety of the members of society, and providing them with the best services at all levels.
