The Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. AbeidAllah Maaitah, opened today the Arab Freestyle and Romanian Wrestling Championships “under (17) years and under (23) years.”

The opening was attended by the President of the Arab Wrestling Federation, Mohammad Kamal Bouaziz, the President of the Jordanian Wrestling Federation, Eng. Mohammad Al-Awamleh, and a number of Arab and local sports figures, and the teams participating in the tournament, whose activities are taking place in the Sports Palace hall in Al-Hussein Youth City, organized by the Jordan Wrestling Federation.

Major General Al-Maaitah stressed the importance of the Kingdom hosting Arab and international sports competitions and tournaments, which reflects Jordan’s position and high confidence in its capability to organize such events in a safe sports environment.

Major General Al-Maaitah crowned a number of winning players in different weights of the tournament.

The tournament witnesses a record participation of more than (190) male and female players representing (11) countries: “Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Qatar,” in addition to Jordan.
