The Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. AbeidAllah Maaitah, confirmed that the strategic development taking place in the security system of the Public Security agency came as a result of the approach, visions and Royal support of His Majesty, the Supreme Commander, King Abdullah II, and according to clear scientific plans prepared in accordance with the requirements and needs of society.

Major General Al Maaitah said: The security strategy places national security priorities at the forefront of its objectives, and in effective partnership with the rest of the state institutions, most notably the Jordan Armed Forces - the Arab Army, and other security agencies, to protect the highest national interests, achieve security and community peace, and provide optimal services to citizens and everyone.

In a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College under the title “Public Security Strategy to Maintain National Security,” the Director of Public Security explained the importance of the roles that the Public Security Directorate assigns to building a comprehensive system capable of delivering the security message efficiently and professionally, and in a way that contributes to achieving awareness against crimes and ensuring effective community participation in efforts to establish security and stability.

Major General Al-Maaitah added that Public Security agency and all its formations and units work according to a scientific and operational approach whose goal is to improve and modernize the security and police work system and the services provided by the various departments and units ,considering that the civil protection system is a major and important part of our strategy, we are constantly working to develop and provide it with trained and qualified manpower, and the latest equipment and devices, in a way that enables the Civil Defense Directorate to carry out the duties with all efficiency and ability, and enhances the speed of its response to emergency incidents and direct dealing with them, which is what was a top priority during the implementation of the Royal visions of merging civil defense to the Public Security Directorate.

The Director of Public Security indicated to the importance of the role played by the citizen as a major partner in sustaining and preserving the community security system, as the Public Security Directorate continues to consolidate and strengthen this partnership through the concepts of community policing, active citizenship, and professional and responsible security media.

At the end of the lecture, which was attended by the Commander of the Royal Jordanian National Defense College, Brigadier General Azzam Al-Rawahneh, and a number of members of the training staff, the Director of Public Security answered the audience’s questions and inquiries.
