The Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Abeidallah Maaitah, met in his office today the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, Izumi Nakamitsu, and her accompanying delegation in which the two parties discussed ways and aspects of enhancing joint cooperation in various security and humanitarian fields.

During the meeting, the Director of Public Security stressed a number of common issues in the framework of the strategic partnership with the United Nations and its affiliated organizations, in a way that supports the efforts made by the global organization.

For her part, Nakamitsu praised the advanced work system of the Public Security Directorate, its continued cooperation with the United Nations and its contribution to achieving security and peace, through continuous efforts made by Jordan and the Public Security Directorate in this context.
