The Director of Public Security, Maj. Gen. AbeidAllah Maaitah, and the President of the University of Jordan, Prof. Nather Obeidat, signed today, at the directorate's building, a memorandum of understanding to enhance joint cooperation between the two sides.
The memorandum of understanding included dimensions aimed at supporting the efforts of the Community Peace Center of the Public Security Directorate, and serving the community with modern scientific and academic methods, in the field of crime prevention and extremist ideology.
Al- Maaitah confirmed that Public Security Directorate is proud of its partnership with the University of Jordan, which is based on effective national responsibility towards promoting security and peace in society, and serving the Jordanian person.
Maj. Gen. Maaitah added that the signing of this agreement comes in the context of framing participatory efforts, through promising programs and projects aimed at exchanging knowledge, spreading a security culture that contributes to protecting individuals and protecting society from all that threatens its security and stability.
In turn, the President of the University of Jordan, Prof. Nather Obeidat, expressed his thanks for the efforts made by the Public Security Directorate to maintain the security of society with all its members and institutions, and his appreciation for the role of the Community Peace Center in building awareness among citizens.
He stressed the keenness of the University of Jordan to consolidate the existing partnership with the Directorate, by harnessing its educational and research capabilities, to contribute to achieving noble security goals in order to enhance the security of society.
