The Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. AbeidAllah Maaitah, patronized the celebration held by the Directorate on the occasion of the International Day of Civil Defense and Civil Protection, which falls on 1, March of each year.
This year's celebration came under the title (Innovative Technologies in the Service of Civil Defense) to emulate the great role of technological development witnessed by the world in the field of advanced and innovative machines and equipment, in a way that ensures the preservation of the nation's best interest, and the reduction of human and material losses in the event of incidents.
During his speech, the Director of Civil Defense, Brigadier General Dr. Mohammad Al-Omari, stressed the development of work efficiency by presenting technology within the fields of civil defense and benefiting from it, which will reflect positively on how to respond to disasters, and raise the level of humanitarian services provided to society, noting that civil defense has received support by by His Majesty King Abdullah II, until it became comparable to its civil defense and civil protection counterparts in developed countries.
Darius Radcliffe, Director of Mercy Corps in Jordan, said in his speech that the importance of building a partnership with the Civil Defense Directorate, which represents one of the aspects of fruitful cooperation with government institutions, stressing that the organization will continue to perform its role in building the capabilities of local communities in cooperation with state institutions to reduce The effects of climate change and disaster response.
The celebration, which was attended by a number of senior officers and strategic partners, included the show of a documentary film about the achievements of the Civil Defense and the development and progress it has achieved, and discussed many work sheets presented by the strategic partners in the field of disasters and reducing their effects.
On the sidelines of the celebration, an exhibition of modern and advanced civil defense equipment was held in all governorates of the Kingdom, today, Sunday, and tomorrow, Monday, will be for all citizens and visitors.
