Public Security Directorate launched today the "Develop a Security Service" Hackathon event, which aims to create a competitive environment that allows owners of innovative and creative ideas to participate in developing solutions and improving or creative services.

The competition comes in the framework of the Directorate's efforts to continue working in the modernization and development phase launched by the Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. AbeidAllah Maaitah, within the strategic plan of the Public Security Directorate.

The hackathon includes a competition offered to all citizens, through the official website of the Public Security Directorate, to submit creative ideas, the winning ideas of which will be transformed into projects and development plans.

The competition includes two main dimensions, the first related to improving the traffic reality, especially with regard to traffic safety, reducing traffic accidents, and alleviating traffic crises, in addition to innovating new methods and ways to develop driver and vehicle licensing services.

As for the second dimensions, it focuses on ways to develop the fields of civil protection in ambulance, rescue and firefighting.

The Department of Strategic Security Studies organizes this hackathon through the Department's Innovation and Development Center, which is a pioneering center and incubator for creative and innovative ideas, and is constantly working to receive these ideas from both the Public Security staff and citizens.

Director of the Studies Department, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Khansa Sawalha, said in an interview with the Public Security Radio that the hackathon allows citizens of all ages and categories, and employees of national institutions, to participate with their creative ideas during the first month of its launch, while the second and third months will be an interactive field for holding a training camp for owners of creative ideas, including a committee to evaluate the ideas.

She explained that those wishing to participate can send their creative ideas by logging into the Public Security Directorate's website (www.psd.gov.jo) and filling out the form for innovative ideas via the Ideas/Hackathon Development Service for citizens form or Hackathon Development Service for Public Security Directorate.
