Traffic Director: Our campaign is continuing based on the long-term traffic strategy.

Our studies confirmed the success of the first stage in reducing road deaths by 5.3%.

We have identified 70 of the busiest traffic sites, in addition to 81 sites that are the most dangerous, and work is underway with the relevant ministries and institutions to deal with them.

The role of traffic is limited to organizing and facilitating traffic to reduce traffic jam and prevent violations, and the biggest role is to coordinate with the concerned authorities to develop engineering solutions.

One million and 900 thousand vehicles in the capital, Amman, and the entry of about 80 thousand vehicles annually on the same roads

The traffic points system continues effectively, 32 driving licenses have been reserved , and 10 traffic training courses have been held, with the participation of 78 drivers whose traffic points exceeded 16 points.

The numbers confirm that the biggest cause of accidents is the human element, which is the main control element in the efficiency of the traffic process

Arresting a driver at a speed of 204 km/h is an example of unjustified violations, and we will not hesitate to catch the reckless.

Every serious violation is an unfinished accident project, and our duty is to preserve lives and property

Using a mobile phone for two seconds while walking at a speed of 100 km/h means walking with a blind area of 55 meters.

Reliance on technology in automatic monitoring of roads, and cameras to monitor the performance of all traffic men, at a rate of 100% to establish the principle of transparency and integrity.

Public Security Directorate works day and night to preserve lives and property. We thank those who share with us in performing this great message, and we call on everyone to report dangerous violations via the Traffic Department number 0770999030.

The Director of the Traffic Department, Brigadier General Firas Al-Duwairi, confirmed that Public Security Directorate continues to implement its traffic strategy, which it launched to improve the traffic situation and enhance road safety.

This came during his announcement of the start of the second phase of the "Together for safe arrival" initiative, which is implemented by the traffic departments in cooperation with the Directorate of Mass Media and Community Policing, and is part of the preventive and awareness work to provide a safe traffic environment, indicating that this initiative is characterized by its continuity based on the long-term traffic strategy based on a number of basic themes.

In a phone call to Public Security Radio, the Director of the Traffic Department stated that the second phase of the initiative was based on studies conducted by the traffic departments in Public Security and confirmed the success of the first phase in reducing the percentage of road casualties by 5.3%.

He added that these studies have identified about 70 of the most congested points on the roads, and work is underway to solve them in cooperation with the main partner agencies such as the ministries of local administration, public works, housing and transportation, the Greater Amman Municipality, and the Land Transport Regulatory Authority.

In this regard, Brigadier General Al-Duwairi stressed that the role of the Public Security Directorate in dealing with these sites is limited to organizing and facilitating the citizens and preventing the occurrence of serious mistakes on the main streets. The biggest role lies in coordination and follow-up with the concerned authorities to develop engineering and technical solutions  to deal the increase in the number of vehicles  and their rates of movement.

The director of traffic department indicated that the Traffic Department, in cooperation with the Capital Municipality, worked to improve 28 sites in cooperation with the concerned authorities, such as installing collapsible phosphorus poles to separate paths, which were useful in preventing accidents.

Al-Duwairi indicated that the great acceleration in the number of cars contributed to the increase in density on the roads, indicating that there are one million and 900 thousand vehicles in the capital, Amman, in addition to the entry of about 80 thousand vehicles annually for use in the Kingdom and almost on the same roads, indicating to the  traffic density is a feature in active capitals.

With regard to the traffic points system, Brigadier General Al-Duwairi indicated that the Public Security Directorate continues to implement this system effectively in accordance with the provisions of the law, especially that this law aims to deal with those who insist on repeating dangerous violations, such as crossing red lights and driving at high speeds, indicating that it has been done so far, reservation of 32 licenses for drivers who exceeded the allowed number of points, and ten courses were held for 78 people for training in Public Security whose traffic points exceeded 16 points.

He added that the numbers confirm that the biggest cause of accidents is the human element, which is the main control element in the efficiency of the traffic process, especially since some insist on repeating serious violations, in addition to the recklessness that we sometimes witness, such as catching a driver at a speed of 204 km / h, which is an example of violations which are dangerous and unjustified, stressing that every dangerous violation is an unfinished accident project, and our duty is to preserve lives and property, and we will not hesitate to catch the reckless.

The director of traffic  continued, that some violations have become a habit for some, such as driving at high speed, or talking on the phone, which we must raise awareness to change, indicating that using a mobile phone for two seconds while driving at a speed of 100 km / h means walking in a blind area with a distance of 55 meters.

He added that, in order to control the  dangerous violations that threaten the safety of citizens, Public Security Traffic Department has increased its reliance on technology to raise the percentage of automated road control, indicating that work is underway in coordination with the relevant ministries and institutions to deal with 81 sites that are the most dangerous, according to the study of Jordan Traffic Institute.
