The Knights of the Public Security Team won the gold medal in the spear event within the World Cup tent-pegging Championship, which was launched today, Thursday, in Georgetown, South Africa.
Public Security team topped the ranking of the teams participating in the activities of the first day of the tournament after intense competition with the participating teams from the countries: South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Norway, and the Sultanate of Oman.
The Public Security team consisting of knights (Hussam Al-Khazaleh, Abdel-Wahhab Ibrahim, Ahmed Fahd, Omar Salem, Adhim Hussein) was awarded with the team gold in the spear event, after an impressive performance, while the Saudi team ranked second, and the Arab Republic of Egypt team came third.
The Public Security team is the only representative of Jordan in this sport, and the team qualified for the World Cup after winning the qualifiers that took place in the Pakistani city of Lahore last March.
Public Security Directorate is participating in the tournament with a delegation headed by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Al-Qaqaa, and its membership includes Captain Muhammad Al-Tarawneh, the team coach, Captain Raed Al-Dalabeh, and the knights: Hussam Al-Khazaleh, Abdul-Wahhab Ibrahim, Ahmed Fahd, Omar Salem, Adhim Hussein.
