HRH Prince Al Hussein Ibn Abdullah II, the Regent, visited today, Tuesday, the Criminal Investigation Department at Public Security Directorate.
His Highness, in the presence of Public Security Director, Maj. Gen. Hussein Al-Hawatmeh, was briefed on the most prominent tasks and duties of CID, as well as the updates and techniques introduced to pursue and prevent crime.
The Regent stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with various sectors to raise awareness about the prevention of criminal methods, indicating to the need to keep pace with the rapid progress in technology.
His Highness indicated to the need to constantly strive to develop the CID work by increasing international cooperation, benefiting from the experiences of developed countries in this field, and continuing to develop human skills.
His Majesty congratulated the personnel of the Public Security Directorate on the sixty-fourth anniversary of the directorate's establishment, praising their efforts in maintaining order, providing security and protecting lives and property.
His Highness was briefed, during his inspection of several section inside the CID building, the director of the Department on the most important tasks and duties it carries out and the most prominent criminal statistics, in addition to future plans to raise capabilities and efficiency and keep pace with modern criminal sciences.
For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Hawatmeh stated that the Public Security Directorate gives crime control a priority and provides all forms of support and operational and logistical support to the Criminal Investigation Department, indicating to the provision of the best international experiences in modern criminal sciences to transfer useful and effective ones to the police system.
