The Director of Public Security Major General AbeidAllah Maaitah conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, to all personnel of Public Security, and His Majesty's congratulations to them on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
The Director of Public Security stressed the necessity of continuing work and coordination between units and formations, thanking the personnel of Public Security for their exceptional efforts in performing security and humanitarian duties during the holy month of Ramadan and in different weather conditions and times, which reflects high professionalism and enhances citizens' confidence in police men and their noble mission.
Major General Maaitah said that the Public Security Directorate continues to implement the wise royal directives by providing services to citizens in all walks of life, adding that our ultimate goal is to preserve the security and safety of citizens, and to enforce the rule of law fairly without bias or discrimination, in implementation of the wise royal directives.
This came during a security meeting chaired by the Director of Public Security today, Wednesday, in the presence of the assistants and senior officers of the Directorate, to follow up the implementation of the security, traffic and community plans set by the Directorate on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, and during the last days of Ramadan.
Major General Al-Maaitah indicated to the necessity of providing the best security service to citizens, facilitating and protecting them, and ensuring their safety during the Eid days in an optimal way that reflects the societal relationship between the police man and the citizen, who is considered a partner in maintaining security and enforcing the law.
The Director of Public Security stressed the need to activate local security plans efficiently to provide security to citizens, through the commanders of regions and directorates, especially in areas witnessing commercial or tourism activities, indicating to the importance of educating citizens of the need to follow proper procedures to maintain their safety.
Major General Al-Maaitah stressed that the Civil Defense Directorate represents an important role in extending a helping hand to citizens, providing civil protection services, maintaining safety, and responding to any emergency effectively.
Major General Al-Maaitah directed the need to intensify security and traffic control, through patrols operating in civilian and military uniforms, and to develop support and joint plans with the gendarmerie forces that provide security and humanitarian services to support police units and civil defense.
Major General Maaitah also praised the great humanitarian role of the rehabilitation centers, which was reflected in the humanitarian initiatives towards the inmates and their families in the holy month, indicated the need to continue the rehabilitation approach with societal and humanitarian frameworks that deal with the inmates in accordance with the provisions of the law and within a framework of respect for human rights.
The Director of Public Security also instructed the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation Centers to facilitate the families of the inmates during Eid visits, and to expand their visits on this occasion, in a way that strengthens the family bond of the inmates.
The Director of Public Security called on citizens to avoid wrong behavior, to preserve picnic areas, especially tourist and natural areas, to avoid dangerous traffic violations, and to adhere to the instructions and guidelines issued by the competent authorities, which were designed to serve the community with all its members, and to preserve their safety.
