Two inmates from correction and rehabilitation centers have reached the third and final level in the Hashemite Competition for Memorizing the Holy Qur’an, the results of which are expected to be announced during the holy month of Ramadan of 2024, and supervised by Ministry of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places

It is noteworthy that this is the first participation for inmates of correction and rehabilitation centers in the Hashemite Competition for Memorizing the Holy Qur’an, as the programs for memorizing the Holy Qur’an inside correction centers are considered one of the deep-rooted and old programs in which the department seeks to involve the largest number of inmates with the aim of bringing about positive change in the behavior of inmates.

The number of inmates involved in internal Holy Qur’an memorization activities for the year 2023 reached more than 400 inmates, and they are repeatedly honored by the Public Security Directorate and by some partner associations under memorandums of understanding aimed at strengthening the correctional science within correctional and rehabilitation centers.
