In 1993, anti-narcotics department/ Addiction Treatment Center was established in Jabal Al-Weibdeh. It was the first specialized center in Jordan for addiction treatment and the only one in the world followed to a police authority.
The center had a capacity of (18) beds at that time. Developments continued in the treatment center for addicts, as a new building was established in the Arjan area of the capital (Amman) in 2009, and the center’s capacity became 60 beds.
In 2012, the second phase of the expansion was inaugurated under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah, the Crown Prince - may God protect him -.
The center's capacity became 170 beds, and it is supervised by a specialized staff from anti-narcotics department with a high skills of professional and scientific capabilities.
