The equestrian unit was established since the formation of the first Jordanian government during the reign of King Abdullah I Ibn Al-Hussein (may God rest his soul) in 1921.

The equestrian unit was one of the forces that made up the military force at that time (the Gendarmerie Forces / the Knights / the Camels).

In the year 1930, a force of the Badia and the Border Guard was formed, which controlled and protected the border crossings and prevented cases of smuggling.

In 1936, a reserve force called the Mechanical Badia Force was formed, and it consisted of two cavalry companies (camels / knights) and a mobile desert unit.

At the beginning of 1939, the Badia forces, of which the Haggana unit was one of its forces, were moved into three battalions, where the First, Second and Third Infantry Battalions were formed.

In 1943 and in 1986, a number of border guard companies were formed under the the name of the Badia Command and the Border Guard, where the Equestrian unit was also one of those companies.

In the beginning of 1997, the Border Guard Brigades were separated and joined to  the Jordan Armed Forces, and the Royal Decree was issued at that time to rename it to the Royal Badia Forces Command.

On February 17, 2020, it was separated  from the Royal Badia Forces.
