Pursuant the Vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein that maintaining the safety and security of citizens requires the development of security strategies aimed at developing preventive action against crime in light of recent criminal developments and the fact that the crime of human trafficking is a newly developed crime with a significant negative impact.
The Criminal investigation to combat the crime has passed through the following stages:
At the beginning of 2013, The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit was established when it began its work. The referral mechanism has been formulated to embody the roles of governmental and non-governmental agencies in order to establish a general framework for dealing with victims and those affected by this crime, taking into account the participatory approach from the moment of reporting the crime until the victim’s reintegration into society or the voluntary return to the country through all legitimate means of assistance and protection in line with international and national standards for the protection and assistance of victims.
The concept of human trafficking
Human trafficking is a crime against humanity and is considered a violation to human dignity and humanity, as God created man and favored him over the rest of his creation.
The crime of human trafficking is of a special nature, considering that its commodity is a special category of people with their own conditions of extreme poverty, lack of job opportunities, regional differences, economic disparities, political instability, armed conflict, and the loss of social security, which is considered an easy way for traffickers to trap the victims through some temptations by false promises or the use of coercive tactics and manipulation, including deception, intimidation, pretending to love, threats, use of force, etc…
