Duties

 First:  in the field of drivers licensing:

  1. Examination and evaluation of applicants for all types of driving
  2. Issuance and renewal of driving licenses.
  3. Issuance of temporary public driving licenses to non-Jordanians.
  4. Replacement of Arab and foreign licenses in accordance with the provisions of the law.
  5. Monitoring and supervising driver training centers in the Kingdom and ensuring their implementation of the regulations and instructions issued based on the Traffic Law.

 

 Second:  in the field of vehicles licensing: Inspect imported vehicles and ensure their suitability for driving on the roads and their compliance with the technical conditions and requirements stipulated in the Traffic Law and the regulations and instructions issued pursuant thereto before customs clearance of them.

  1. Registering vehicles of all types and categories, renewing their licenses annually, and issuing related licenses.
  2. Inspect vehicles to ensure their legal and technical suitability for driving on the roads.
  3. Conducting all legal contracts for vehicles (transfer of ownership, mortgage, release of mortgage, legal agencies).
  4. Implementation of decisions of courts and security authorities related to vehicle issues.

 

 Third, in the field of traffic awareness: Contribute to the reduction of traffic accidents through the strategy of the Public Security Directorate for traffic awareness in cooperation with the authorities concerned with the traffic process.

 Fourth, in the field of environment: Contribute to preserving the environment by developing the work of technical inspection stations.

 Fifthly, in terms of participation: Participation of the competent authorities in drafting traffic legislation.

 Sixth, in the field of technical advice: Providing technical advice to official and non-official bodies with regard to vehicles.

 Seventh, in the field of technical studies: Providing official authorities, researchers and students in universities with statistics related to the numbers of drivers and vehicles and any other statistics.
