The Procurement Department was created on 15/8/2005, based on the directions of the public security directorate to unify the procurement for the logistical support departments in the Public Security Directorate.

Among the duties of the Procurement Department is the implementation of the Public Security Directorate’s procurement policy, the preparation, development and application of laws, customs instructions and regulations related to procurement in cooperation with the competent government agencies, receiving and coordinating purchase requests transferred from the units and departments of the Public Security Directorate, determining the best procurement sources (local and foreign) and obtaining purchase approvals according to assets.
Unifying the specifications of the common materials between the departments and following up their development as much as possible. Implementing the military sales policy and forming purchase, receiving and selling committees and issuing the necessary directives to the relevant committees
Organizing contracts and agreements concluded between the Public Security Directorate and any other party, whether official, civilian or military, that result in financial revenues for the Public Security Directorate, and following up on its ratification, implementation and documentation accordingly.
