(Correction and Rehabilitation Centers Diploma Program)

Correction and Rehabilitation Diploma Program is a unique academic specialization in the Middle East and the Arab country. The participant is awarded an intermediate university degree (diploma). This certificate is awarded only in Jordan and there is no similar Arab or regional program.

The Objective of Correction and Rehabilitation Diploma Program:

This specialization aims at preparing participants on the basis and concepts of modern penal institutions and enabling them to familiarize with international charters, conventions and regulations on the legal and humanitarian treatment with prisoners in the areas of daily handling, respect for prisoners' rights and treatment in accordance with international standards relating to the human rights system and public freedoms, which are among the most important pillars in correctional work, upgrading of trainees, providing them with professional and functional knowledge, skills, capacity-building and developing  performance methods to enable them to perform the work and functions required at the best desired level in order to achieve the objectives of punitive policies in  correcting and rehabilitating  prisoners.

Target group:

• The participant should have High School ( Successful/ Tawjihi)/PSD, and the priority for the staff of Correction and Rehabilitation Centers and according to the admission and registration bases of Balqa Applied University in addition to Public Security Directorate instructions.

How to nominate participants: 

• Personal interview through a committee formed by PSD, and in accordance with the conditions stipulated and approved by the Standing Committee, in addition to the instructions of Balqa Applied University.

The Supervisor:

Al- Balqaa Applied University/ Princess Rahma  University College.

PSD, -  Correction  and Rehabilitation Centers Department - Training and Development Institute  in cooperation with Balqa Applied University / Princess Rahma  University College.

Program Duration:

Two Academic years (Four semesters and  a summer term).

Number of  Hours:

(72) Training hours / both theoretical and practical aspects.

Examination System:

Standard Comprehensive Examination held by Balqa Applied University.

Degrees Awarded to students:

Associate degree certified by higher education.

Lecturers:

• Active and retired public security officers who hold Ph.D. or master's degree within current and previous correction experience
• PhD professors of  Al- Balqaa Applied University.
