Duties 

The special branch is a security agency affiliated to the public security directorate and concerned with the following up the events taking place in Jordan, in coordination with the other security agencies, and directly dealing with the police directorates.

It carries out the duties and tasks assigned according  to the public security law,and it includes internal and external divisions is all regions and governorates of the kingdom, the main center in located in the capital Amman, Muqabalayn – Omeish

• Assessment of the security reality within the Scope of work  for divisions, departments and branches.
• Achieving the principle of security by monitoring the application of the security system (office security, personal security, documents and information, facilities and operations) by the personnel.
• Preserving the impartiality of public security men in accordance with the law and immunizing them from political and intellectual polarization by licensed and unlicensed religious parties and groups.
• Holding seminars, programs, and private or open dialogue sessions to countering  extremist ideology, in addition to dealing with booby trapped , suspicious packages, threats, and news reports of all kinds.
• Security education to public security personnel  in the security field in private and public companies and institutions.
• Technical investigations at the bombing scenes.
• Carrying out security coverage for celebration and conference venues.
